Anya loves being part of a small, dedicated team with a compassionate and clear vision. EMPA’s work not only aligns with her professional values but also reflects her personal commitment to wellness, safety, and knowledge. Surrounded by like-minded individuals, Anya feels inspired and motivated to bring her best to the table. She takes pride in contributing to a mission that leaves a meaningful impact on practitioners and the community.
Anya is half-Canadian and half-Indian, a combination she humorously notes makes her equally resistant to cold and hot weather. While she can’t confirm the science, she does admit to a love of maple syrup and spicy food. Growing up in a small town in the United States, Anya developed a close-knit family bond and often spends her evenings losing to her mother during family game nights.
In her free time, Anya loves to immerse herself in fiction books as a way to pause from the real world. A curious traveler, she’s bilingual in English and Hindi and dreams of continuing her French and Japanese lessons, believing that even a few phrases can connect her to the world in meaningful ways. Her passion for exploring cultures extends to her love of vegetarian cooking, where she experiments with new recipes—though not every attempt is a hit. That said, her stir-fry and beet bundle appetizers are always crowd-pleasers. Travel, cooking, and learning languages are her ways of keeping her heart and mind open to new experiences.
Anya’s educational background is rooted in business and entrepreneurship, where she pursued her studies online while balancing a full-time job. This dual commitment taught her discipline, adaptability, and time management. After college, she sought a more creative and flexible career path, leading her through a diverse range of roles, including customer service, business coaching, door-to-door sales, and writing and editing. Each experience has shaped her skills and perspective, ultimately bringing her to her current role at EMPA.
"The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any."
~ Alice Walker
