As an Executive Assistant at EMPA, Julie plays a vital role in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes. She supports the EMPA team by handling essential tasks, allowing others to focus on expanding services for members. With years of writing experience, she has contributed to the development of the Safe Practice Certificate Course and writes for Energy Magazine, ensuring that practitioners have access to valuable education and resources.
For Julie, being part of the energy medicine and holistic healing community is both an honor and a breath of fresh air. After years in the corporate world, she appreciates the supportive, mission-driven environment at EMPA. Seeing real impact within the community—helping practitioners feel more secure, informed, and empowered—has been deeply fulfilling. In many ways, working with EMPA has been a healing experience for her as well.
Julie grew up in the Midwest as a true farmer’s daughter, spending her childhood on an Arabian horse farm. Her father managed 600 acres while also raising horses, hogs, and an ever-growing collection of animals—including endless cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, and even a goat. From an early age, caring for animals became second nature to her.
After four decades of city life, Julie returned to her hometown for a quieter retirement, where she now enjoys the peaceful company of her two cats🐾. However, her passion for animal welfare remains strong. She actively works with advocacy groups pushing for legislation to make pet theft a felony and helps reunite lost animals with their owners.
In her free time, Julie finds joy in the simple pleasures of life—gardening in the summer, reading year-round, and staying involved in efforts to protect and support animals in need. Her love for both nature and advocacy continues to shape the way she contributes to her community.
Julie’s diverse educational background includes studies at The Cooper School of Art, Widener University, Thomas Edison State University, and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Her career spans several industries, bringing a wealth of experience in marketing, consulting, and executive support.
She has held key roles in marketing services at companies such as Melnor Industries, Arrow Group Industries, International Envelope Co., and Ogilvy & Mather. She later served as Vice President of Marketing at Reese Tomases & Ellick and DVIRC, honing her expertise in branding, communications, and strategic growth.
Julie’s career path eventually led her into Medicare and health insurance consulting, where she developed a strong understanding of the complexities of insurance and risk management. Now, as Executive Assistant at EMPA, she applies her vast experience to support both the team and EMPA’s members, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and valuable resources for practitioners.
Her background in marketing, insurance, and business strategy allows her to contribute to EMPA’s mission in meaningful ways—helping members feel informed, supported, and confident in their practice protection.
“…maddest of all - to see life as it is and not as it should be.”
~Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Don Quixote
